The last few weeks have been hectic. Despite plenty of ideas for the continuing saga of Trumplestiltskin as well as other setups, the time to execute them just hasn’t been there. However, that should change over the next couple weeks. Trumplestiltskin’s adventures will resume, interspersed with unrelated builds. I thank Alex for keeping the new material flowing during my brief absence from the site.
In the meantime, as a way to mark the end of the recent season of Doctor Who, here’s one of the early builds (a very simple one) that ultimately inspired the creation of this website. Before LEGO issued a Doctor Who set as part of its Ideas line, Character Building, a UK-based toy maker, had the license to create building brick-based Doctor Who sets. Many of the ones they produced are hard to find in the US, but most of the blind bagged minifigures are readily available. Anyway, most fans of the show should easily figure out the episode that inspired it — using a bookshelf as the base and the backdrop for the characters and the Tardis was an absolute no-brainer.
